Plooysburg is situated approximately 46km (all gravel roads) from Douglas. The settlement is nestled besides a green koppie, and tucked between dense Karoo trees. It is a small development of about 8 houses, a town hall, convenience store and a petrol station comprising of two small Caltex tanks.
Although the town is small, it is very clean and well looked after. A few new developments had been added recently. The locals will tell you the story about the four ghosts who reside on the koppie. Two of the ghosts were from the Boers who were buried on top of the koppie, while the other two ghosts were a wife and her husband.
